The Screen Actor's Toolbox 

Final Act Drama has been training actors young and old in the art of acting for stage and screen.  Our actors go on to play roles in major feature films, independent films, television, commercials, and other video productions.  If your dream is to be on the silver screen or if you are already an actor that needs to sharpen your skills, give us a call and find out when our next course starts.

What do our students think about our course.....

I've take three classes with Final Act Drama: Acting for Screen and Stage, Improv, and Auditions and Cold Reads. I enjoyed every one of them. Russ is an extraordinary instructor. The lessons I learned from Russ gave me the skills and confidence to go out and audition. Not long after finishing my first course, I landed a part in, Steven Spielberg's “Lincoln.”  I've also auditioned for and landed parts in a commercial, and several independent films. Some of which have won awards in film festivals. Russ has been a wonderful mentor and a friend. If I had to describe Russ and Final Act Drama using one word, it would be “Awesome!”

Since I can remember I have always enjoyed acting.  But  I had become shy, inward and depleted of confidence.  I was unhappy and was not myself, only to watch many others move forward with their gifts.  Denying a gift is a terrifying thing, and eventually you decide to continue putting off your talents and be miserable or pursue your talents wholeheartedly.  I decided to take a step forward by enrolling in a Stage & Screen Acting course for adults with Final Act Drama.  I was 29 and terrified that perhaps it was too late.  What I found was a welcoming and encouraging environment that spurred on my talent and invoked a joy for character development.  I have since taken three adult acting classes at Final Act Drama. Aside from meeting what I consider life long friends, the classes have made me more confident in many situations, not just acting, and I now have the courage to move forward in my acting career.  Russ, you believed in me and pointed me to many resources, and I have had so much fun!  Thank you for everything!   -Micah Alex

Actors will break down scenes to discover the humor, emotional moments, pacing, beats and more. This course will also teach you the fundamentals of effective auditioning and how to get your career up and running. Our actors walk away with great tools & confidence in their on camera performances. We video tape all exercises and scenes and playback you performance so you can see and improve your work. Improvisation & Character Development
The Screen Actor's Toolbox Series 

The set is ready! The crew has prepared the lights, make-up, props, wardrobe, and sound.   The camera is speeding and you hear that word you’ve been waiting for…...ACTION!   Are you ready?  You know the lines, but do you know who your character is?  Why do they do what they do and say?  How do they feel and think?  What motivates them? Does your face and body say the same thing that your lines do?  The actor’s responsibility is to create a real, believable, interesting character within the frame work of a scripted story.  It has been said that acting is responding to stimuli in imagined circumstances in an imaginative, dynamic manner that is stylistically truthful to the character and his environment so as to communicate ideas and emotions to an audience.
