“We’re all put here by God to do one great thing,” the boy is told by his father beside their campfire long ago. “If we’re still here, it means we haven’t done it yet.”
Tom Kent is 40 now. An unemployed Nashville lawyer and failing real estate speculator— Tom is hanging onto his house, what’s left of his career, his marriage and his family, by a thread. He has clearly not done his one great thing yet. But that’s about to change when he encounters a not exactly “welcomed-with-open-arms” homeless refugee from Africa. Samuel Kemba is on the run. A death sentence for his faith and Christian ministry in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and separated from his family who are assumed murdered by the regime…Samuel is the last thing Tom Kent wants in his life right now. But he’s the one thing Tom needs most; to take him on a dark journey to the limits of his strength and faith, facing his worst failures and fears, on the mean streets only the desperate and homeless know, to the halls of power in Washington DC, and even to Africa itself to face and fix his worst failing of all… And to do his One Great Thing. |
A film to inspire each of us to reach out and do One Great Thing for others, for God!
